Administration

See the ~/LabAdmin/ManageSources.aspx page in your DATS instance, typically available via the Lab Admin menu.

Name

The name will show up on all pages as the general descriptor of the source. Choose something that packs the maximum information into the smallest space.

Description

The description field is for explaining more than can be conveyed in the name of the source. Usually it appears as a tooltip in DATS interfaces and as footer information in DATS reports.

Short Code

Used in results views and Log Id generation, amongst other places. It's meant to be a shorter version of the name where context can fill in any gaps left out from the full source name.

Active

Sources can be disabled from future use but preserved in DATS for historical purposes.

Sample Type

All sources descend from a sample type. If a source is associated with multiple sample types, each source will need to be created in DATS for each type.
