Working With Data

Samples and Analysis Data

Typically found under the Review Results top navigation menu. There are many reports, views, and interfaces available to suit the various workflows in a lab.

Recent Samples

A running list of all the recently created samples across all sample types. This is a digital replacement for a paper running log, where both lab techs and supervision can see the flow of samples into the lab.

Type Category Results

A table view of the samples and their analyses. The order of the tests and which ones are shown by default can be configured from the Manage Tests page, and clicking the Change test view link in the command bar.

Simply select the sample type, date range, and desired tests to view and click the Show button in the command bar. At the bottom of each test column is a link to the visual trend, which can be further manipulated once open.

Clicking the Export button will render a CSV version of the viewed table.

Another version of the results page will have an Edit button in the command bar. This allows for multiple samples' analyses to be interacted with.

Deleted Samples

Nothing in DATS is truly deleted, so this view will show all the samples which have been deleted by sample type. From here, links to the sample details page will allow for further interaction.

Cast Dates

For mass editing of the cast/make dates for analyses, this view functions much like the advanced version of the Results page.

Reporting

Reports have a slightly different role in DATS than the views for reviewing data described above: reports are meant to be formalized views usable to outside parties. Examples are certification documents, test reports for customers, and overviews for meetings.

Preconfigured Reports

Here are the reports created by Production Data in DATS. These are largely static reports tied to one or more samples within a given type.

Sample Overview

When tests are selected to be Shown In Overview, the results are displayed on this report.

Regression

A graphical way to work with 2 dimensional analyses in a given sample type. Various curve fits are available, along with histograms to aid in visually understanding the relationships.

Lab Admin Interfaces

Lab Admin Overview

Administrators can view much more detail about all the data present in DATS. By clicking the Lab Admin link in the top navigation, an overview shows the status of all the out of spec analyses and the equipment calibrations.

Manage Samples

To see all the out of spec data and also all samples excluded in a given sample type, this interface gives a table view. From here, the out of spec status can be acknowledged.

Lab Log

A running log of every interaction in DATS. Can be filtered by sample type, action, user, and date range.
