Data Entry
- General interface: the general data entry interface lists required and additional information at the top of the page with the analyses in a table below. From this interface samples can be deleted, analyses and additional information can be added, and editable properties can be modified.
- Custom interface: the general interface may not be appropriate for some workflows. There is the optional ability to present analyses differently to more closely replicate existing lab documentation processes. An example below highlights the difference between the general interface for editing analyses and a custom implementation. The red square is simply to highlight the area and is not present in DATS.
- Mass editing of samples: for some lab workflows, being able to edit more than one sample’s analyses simultaneously greatly increases efficiency. DATS offers just such an option where multiple samples’ analyses can be edited, as shown below.
- Automated import from file (example: XRF QAN file): DATS can import data from flat files that have a consistent format. Tests names in the QAN file are mapped to test names in DATS. Once QAN file is in a directory known to DATS, it can be imported to a properly configured sample type (the red arrow shows the notification that occurs when there are QAN files available). The import screen for a QAN file is shown below.
