The goal of Preconfigured Reports is to have consistent, traceable, and completely vetted reporting for consumption by 3rd parties. Customers, regulatory agencies, and inter-laboratory associations all have their own forms and formats, and DATS is equipped to handle them all. Reports can be tied to single samples, multiple samples, and time ranges of samples within a given sample type.
DATS has two mechanisms for creating user-facing reports: PDF templates and customized pages.
To summarize, DATS will take a PDF with named form fields and fill them in based on how the report needs to gather data. Simply name the field the test you would like filled in, or one of the other options available in the templating language, which you can read more about here.
For the a detailed example, we have a Mill Test Report that is tied to a single sample. Follow along here.
Customized Pages
The sky is the literal limit, as anything that can be done in a browser can be made into a beautiful PDF. This is for the most complex reports, including those with graphing requirements.
