Creating a PDF Template

Creating a PDF Template

Summary

For Preconfigured Reports, users can make their own PDF Templates for DATS to process. Below is an example using a single sample based Preconfigured Report.

We recommend using the latest Adobe Acrobat DC for maximum compatibility.

Procedure

Step 1: Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat DC and select the Prepare Form tool.

Step 2: Click the Start button when prompted.

Step 3: Click the Add a Text Field tool in the toolbar.

Step 4: Draw a box where the test data should go and name the field for either the test or other reserved word you would like populated.

Step 5: Once done, notify your Production Data contact and send the finished PDF. They will validate the contents and move to the application environment. It will be available in the Reports → Preconfigured Reports link.

Step 6: Validate the contents after generation. In this example, we wired up MgO, SO3, and LOI. Missing data will have two dashes in place of a blank as seen below.
