Action Item (RCA) Roles

This document provides a brief overview of the roles and associated actions for Action Items (RCA)


Roles:

  1. ActionItemAdmins
    1. Administrator Role
    2. Can perform all RCA actions
  2. ActionItemSuperUser
    1. Additional Administrator role.
    2. Same as ActionItemAdmins
  3. ActionItemAdminReadOnly
    1. Administrator Role
    2. Can view all RCA items, but restricted to read only
  4. ActionItemIncidentCreator
    1. Can create new items
  5. User Defined Roles
    1. Role control portion of pre and post approvers
    2. User must be in one of the approval roles set for the site/category the intend to approve for.
    3. Pre and Post approval roles can be set by site/category in the ActionItem admin.  Roles are created through plant focus role admin and attached to users through the plant focus user admin.

Membership:

  1. Membership is an additional security layer for RCA usage (in most cases Administrator roles override this)
  2. Membership is per user per site & category combination.
  3. Being an Authorized user allows the user to view the site/category.  If they are not an authorized user they will also not be in pre or post approvers.
  4. Pre-Approval Users is one part of allowing the user to pre-approve items.  The user also has to be in the specific pre-approval role for the site/category in order to perform pre-approval actions.
  5. Post-Approval Users is one part of allowing the user to post-approve items.  The user also has to be in the specific post-approval role for the site/category in order to perform post-approval actions.
